This study set out to identify and systematically learn about the functioning of existing community-based child protection mechanisms in Aceh, Indonesia. The goal was to learn deeply about how local people understand children, harms to children, and existing community mechanisms for responding to and preventing those harms. This research identified domestic violence, early marriage, school dropout, child labor, violent teachers and fighting amongst children as key communal concerns.
