The purpose of this competency framework, prepared by the Child Protection Working Group, is to provide a set of standards to facilitate staff recruitment, performance management and professional development with the aim of protecting children in emergencies. The interagency nature of these competencies and their common application is also intended to enable the development and coordination of sector-wide capacity-building efforts.
